RULES FOR THE ELEVENTH EDITION OF THE INFEST RUBÍ FESTIVAL 2026
1. The participation scope is international.
2. Anyone can participate without age restrictions.
3. There is no limit to the number of submissions per author.
4. Submitted works must be fiction short films, in the genres FANTASY, FREAK, SCIENCE FICTION, and HORROR.
5. The duration of the films must not exceed 15 minutes, excluding credits.
6. If the original language of a work is not English, Spanish, or Catalan, subtitles in English, Spanish, or Catalan must be provided, or the film must be dubbed into one of these languages.
7. Any production that does not meet the technical requirements for proper screening may be rejected.
8. Short films produced before January 1, 2022, will not be accepted.
9. Works that have been selected as “Finalists” in previous editions of the festival will not be accepted.
10. The deadline to submit works is May 3, 2026.
11. A digital copy of the short film must be submitted with a minimum resolution of 1280×720 pixels, in any of the following digital formats: AVI, MPEG, MOV, WMV, MKV, etc., with video encoded in H264 and audio in AAC.
Submissions can be sent to the festival via digital platforms such as MOVIBETA, FESTHOME, CLICK FOR FESTIVALS, and FILMFREEWAY.
Exceptionally, works may be submitted via a viewing link sent to the email address infest.rubi@gmail.com
- Shipping costs are the responsibility of the participants.
- The festival organization and its jury will select the works that will compete and the winners, respectively.

The festival will award the following prizes:
a) Jury Prize for “Best Short Film InFest Rubí 2026” awarded with €1,000.
b) Jury Prize for “Runner-Up Short Film InFest Rubí 2026” awarded with €250.
c) “Audience Award InFest Rubí 2026” awarded with €250.
The prize amounts will be transferred via bank transfer. The festival will not cover any fees related to transfers to non-European accounts. To receive the prize, it is mandatory for the winner to issue an invoice. Failure to do so will result in forfeiting the prize. - Winners will be announced at the end of the short film screenings during the closing gala of the festival, scheduled for Saturday, July 11, 2026.
- The jury’s decision is final. The festival reserves the right to declare a prize void.
- The organization may use fragments of the selected works to promote the festival through any media indefinitely, without commercial purposes.
- All works will become part of the festival’s video library and may be shown for cultural and/or educational purposes, but never for commercial purposes.
- All Catalan-produced short films participating in this year’s InFest edition are automatically eligible for the TAC Award given by the Federació d’entitats cinèfiles “Terror Arreu de Catalunya”.
- Submitting an audiovisual work implies full acceptance of these rules. Any unforeseen situations will be resolved at the festival’s discretion. InFest is not responsible for violations of intellectual property rights of submitted works.
