RULES FOR THE VIII VALLÉS AWARDS “FORA DE PLA”
- Participating projects must be produced within the Vallès Occidental or Vallès Oriental regions.
- A project will be considered part of Vallès Occidental or Vallès Oriental if its director, screenwriter, and/or lead actor/actress is a native or registered in the census of any of the towns in either of these regions. Similarly, a project whose production company is based in one of these regions will also be eligible to participate.
- There are no age restrictions to participate.
- There is no limit on the number of projects per participant.
- Projects submitted to the contest may be of any genre or format.
- The duration of contest projects must not exceed 20 minutes, including credits. Exceptionally, longer projects may be admitted, but if any of these are selected as finalists, only the first 20 minutes will be shown during the Fora de Pla Awards ceremony.
- The language of the works can be Spanish, Catalan, or any other language, provided subtitles in Spanish or Catalan are included.
- Any project may be rejected if its production does not meet the technical requirements for proper cinematic projection.
- Projects produced before January 1, 2024, will not be accepted.
- The deadline for project submissions is May 30, 2026 (inclusive).
- Projects must be sent to the Fora de Pla Awards organization via email to infest.rubi@gmail.com with the subject line “Premis Fora de Pla,” followed by the project name. The email must include:
- An attached copy or a viewing link of the audiovisual project, with a minimum resolution of 720×576 pixels, in any of the following digital formats: AVI, MPEG, MOV, WMV, MKV, etc., with video encoded in H264 and audio in AAC.
- Technical information about the audiovisual project, including the names of the director, screenwriter, production company (if applicable), year of shooting/production, format (documentary, short film, web series, music video, etc.), genre, duration, and a contact method (phone, email, etc.).
- An attached copy of the NIF (tax ID) or a certificate of residence to verify that the creator (director or screenwriter) is linked to one of the municipalities in Vallès Oriental or Occidental, or, if applicable, the registered address of the production company.
- The festival organization will select the finalist projects and will contact the directors, screenwriters, and/or producers of the selected projects at least 20 days before the Fora de Pla Awards gala.
- A jury chosen by the organization will determine the project awarded Best Vallés Project 2026, which includes a monetary prize of €150. Payment will be made via bank transfer. The festival will not cover any fees related to transfers to non-European accounts. To receive the prize, it is mandatory for the winner to issue an invoice. Failure to do so will result in forfeiting the prize.
- The organization of the Fora de Pla Awards will announce the jury’s decision during the gala of this edition of the Vallés Awards, scheduled for July 9, 2026, at the Castell de Rubí amphitheater.
- If the genre of the winning project is aligned with the InFest festival (International Short Film Festival of Science Fiction, Horror, and Freak from Rubí), it may be included in competition for the 12th edition, and the organization reserves the right to screen it out of competition if it is not selected among the finalist shorts.
- The jury’s decision is final. The organization reserves the right to declare the prize void.
- The organization may use fragments of the finalist works to promote the festival in any media indefinitely, without commercial purposes.
- Finalist works will become part of the festival’s video library and may be screened for cultural or educational purposes, without commercial use.
- Participation in the Fora de Pla Awards implies acceptance of these rules. Any situation, conflict, or incident not covered by these rules will be resolved according to the decision of the Fora de Pla Awards organizing committee. Likewise, the InFest Association is not responsible for any possible violation of the intellectual property rights of the works submitted to the contest.
